In some aspects, these changes were arbitrary because it could stand against superstitions. But in other side, it was negative because it changed cloth of their culture, ruined their religion and brought disunity among them.
First of all, white strange men came with new faith. It was completely different from tribes religion. It spread unity and kindness. By this it opened its way to peoples heart. Those who were angry close their religions principal like Nwoye, Okonkwos oldest son_ who Okonkwo believed is rachitic and lazy_ turn to new faith. (Nwoye was angry about Ikemefunas murder.) Likewise, they apply to throw match away in the bushes in post to cause them die. Nwoye could not understand his peoples action. So when missionaries came with new faith full of kindness he evaluate it immediately.

He lelt a relief within as the hymn poured into his parched soul. The lyric poem of the hymn were like the drops of frozen rain melting on the dry palate of the panting earth.
