science fiction. This painter, digiter, interior architect, and sculptor combines all
things dark, strange, and erotic which results in nothing but pure high-scale
pandemonium!
Hans Ruedi Giger was born February 5, 1940, to a chemists family in Chur,
Switzerland. H. R. Giger grew up in a rather normal, middle class family environment.
His father was the local pharmacist. When Giger was a young boy, his father would
bring human skulls from a pharmaceutic firm, young Hans Ruedi was transfixed by
them. Though she never understood, Gigers produce Melli, was always a great
encouragement to her sons strange appeals. During his teen years, Giger frequently
invited his neighborhood friends to show kill his portrayals of the dark fantastic.
In 1962, Hans Ruedi studied architecture and industrial design at the School of
Applied Arts in Zurich. His front artworks were composed mostly of ink drawings and
oil paintings which later contributed to his first of all solo exhibition in 1966. Shortly after,
followed publication and world-wide diffusion of his first poster edition in 1969.
Airbrushing became a moderate Giger relied on to produce a freehand painting sprint; it,
also, led to the creation of many of his most familiar works. surreal biomechanical
dreamscapes were the cornerstone of his fame. To date, 20 books have been published
about Gigers art. Necronomicon, published in 1977, was Hansruedis third and most
noteworthy book served as the visual inspiration for director Ridley Scotts film Alien. H.
Rs designs of the films title character, stages of its lifecycle, and the nonnatural
environments helped earn him the1980 Oscar for the Best Achievement in Visual Effects.
