Remember the phrase The course of authorized love never did run smooth (Midsummer)? Believe it or not, this is a direct quote from a play scripted by the Bard himself, William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare was baptized 26th April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England. His exact birth date is unknown. His fathers note was John Shakespeare. His mother went by the name bloody shame Arden. formally John was a glover, but it is suspected that he spend a fair amount of time working in the agriculture business.
Mary Arden was born in 1540 as a member of a noble Catholic family, the Ardens of Park Hall. They had been inclined their land by William the Conqueror. She had seven sisters and four step-siblings. Mary and John were hook up with in 1557 and surprised numerous of the people in Stratford. While they shared a common religion, John and Mary came from opposite ends of the social spectrum. Believe it or not, John Shakespeare was illiterate. As was Mary, educating girls born into noble families was not a social norm at the time. John was 26 when he married Mary, 9 years his junior. Its not clear if the marriage was found on love, money, or love of money. William was not the first small fry born to the Shakespeares.
There was a Joan and a Margaret before him. both died young. After William came another Joan, then Gilbert, Anne, Richard, and Edmund.
At age 18, William married Anne Hathaway. Six months after the wedding, Susanna was born. Shortly after marrying Anne, William moved to capital of the United Kingdom to find work as an actor. It was assumed that one of his playing roles was Edward I in 1593. Throughout his career, he acted in many of his own plays, playing Adam in As You homogeneous It, King Duncan in Macbeth, King hydrogen in Henry IV, and Hamlets father in Hamlet.
