In the short bill Miss brill, by Katherine Masnfield; the main character Miss brill does non see reality as she should. In this story Mansfield uses symbolic representation to help tell the story. She sees life like it is a nobble and that everyone including herself. In the short story Miss Brill goes to the commonality one sunlight afternoon to clean sit. When Miss Brill sat on the bench there was an elderly orthodontic braces on sitting on the bench too. They were having a conversation , and enchantment they were talking Miss Brill was listening in on their conversation. She likes to listen and see what people are talking about. When they encounter and leave Miss Brill begins to listen to the solidifying sportsman their music in the leafy vegetable. She feels as thouh they are playing plainly for her. She then thinks to herself that this is a play and everyone has a special lineament in this play, and that she has a role in the play too, which is going to the park every Sunday to sit in the park and watch what goes on around her. The a younger couple comes and sits next to her on the bench. They begin to have a conversation, and of assembly line Miss Brill listened in. The young man began to say how gaumless Miss Brills skin ermine is and how she should just stay house because no one wants to see her subject or wants her around. The young lady just laughs.
Miss Brill was so hurt that she went home right away and did not stop at the bakery like she does every Sunday to get her piece of cake. She really enjoys the bakery because it she sometimes gets a surprise, an almond a special treat, in her slice of cake. When she gets home she takes off the fur ermine and puts it back in her box, but as she is walking away she thinks that she hears something crying. In the short story there is a lot of symbolism used end-to-end the story, and it is shown through Miss Brills fur ermine, the band playing music in the park, and through the prostitute who Miss Brill sees while she is at the park.
