Effective communication is an important fracture of the any organization. Effective communication within an organization is make up of many processes and comp unitynts. To become an effective listener and communicator, these processes and components moldiness be learned and still. Communication involves different kinds of tuition relayed and stock by the parties involved as well as in the manner that the information is passed along. Effective communication can be between two people or a meeting of people.
Communication can be defined as a process that involves a number of steps among two or more people for the purpose of exchanging information (Wallace & Roberson, 2009). Certain skills and practices ar taken to create effective communication within a department. Some of these steps allow the manner in which the information is relayed and how it is received from one person to another.



For example, if the information is not understood by the person relaying the information, it can be passed along wrong to the person or people receiving the information. Communication requires active audience and good understanding of the material. This is extremely important within a law enforcement agency.
In a law enforcement agency, there be certain measures and steps that identify the different areas of communication. Some of these components include the four regions of fellowship and the four types of communication patterns. The four regions of knowledge are also known as the Johari window, which was created by Joseph Luft and lay waste to Ingham (Wallace & Roberson, 2009).
