A tale of two cities is about the time during the french revolution. A man Charles Darnay is falsely accused about press release against the revolution and is sentenced to be executed by the guillotine. But origin totallyy he was killed a man named Sydney carton switched places with him and let him escape. Sydney Carton was willing to do what he did because he fill ind Lucy, who was Charles Darnays wife and knew that Charles had a loving family and he didnt merit to die. Also Sydney was an alcoholic lawyer and led an ill-spent vitality in and out of bars. Sydney didnt have a family or anybody to love until he met Lucy. He knew what Charles meant to her and thats why he changes places, to organise her happy.
Once Sydney changes places with Charles, he must have estimate that he is doing the right thing for his love Lucy. He also thought of his life and what he should have done differently to draw in it better, like getting conjoin and having kids. But alcohol was his evenfall and his life spiraled out of control.



He could have even married his love Lucy if he wasnt a terrible alcoholic. Sydney thinks of all his friends and of the life he had and he even comforts a seamstress who was also going to be executed by the guillotine. He can at least end his life knowing that it had some meaning and that he has did some unafraid for people. That is self-assuring for him to know that his life wasnt useless.
