rev Fr James P. Murphy CSSP was born about 93 long time ago in the Republic of lreland (Southern lreland). He grew up and shortly replyd in the army onward being ordained as a missionary priest of God of the Roman Catholic Church. His missionary work brought him to Nigeria in Africa. He was first stick on to serve as a principal of a youth secondary school Abbot Grammar School,Ihiala. He was later deployed to serve as a pioneer principal of yet some other upcoming secondary school- St. Peters secondary school, Achina in Aguata Local Government Area- in 1960. He spent a wide-cut of 30 months (2 ½ years) as the Principal of this school before leaving it on …………………….1962 at exactly…….pm for a journey to lreland for his leave. On return from leave, he was deployed as the Rector of Juniorate Seminary, lhiala where he served until the outbreak of the NigeriaBiafra Civil war in 1966. Later he was posted to Abatete in Idemili South L.G.A as a Parish Priest.
It was time he was serving as the Parish Priest immediately after the civil war that he to concentrateher with other discharge priests were ordered to leave the country by the Federal Government. Rev Fr Murphy altogether spent a total of 18 years in Nigeria he was later send to the United States of America where he served as a parish priest for some time before he finally went to Blantyre Malawi vitamin E Africa. He spent another 38 years in the sew ice of the lord in East Africa. at long last he retired and was flown back to his home country where he is at a time being cared for in an old peoples home.
