Airplane Radar and Navigation System

Chapter 1
Introduction
1.1 Background
The development of radar as a mature technology did not occur until World War II, the introductory principle of radar detection is almost as hoar as the subjected of electromagnetism itself. In year 1886, Maxwell theories was visitation by Heinrich Hertz experimentally and was demonstrated the similarity amidst radio and light waves which radio waves could be reflected by silver-looking and di galvanizing bodies. James C. Maxwells Dynamic surmisal of the Electromagnetic field was developed around the year of 1850. These theories justify that invisible rays (not seen by human eyes) existed which is created by oscillatory electric currents. The experiment was done surprisingly with relatively laconic wavelength radiation sickness (66cm) whereby later on, longer wavelength was performed. Shorter wavelengths were not in great using up until the late thirties. In 1903, a German engineer, Hülsmeyer ascertained the detection of radio waves reflected from ships which is useful as an obstacle demodulator and ship navigational device. The year 1922, Marconi said:
As was first-class honours degree shown by Hertz, electric waves can be completely reflected by conducting bodies. In some of my tests I have noticed the effects of reflection and detection of these waves by metallic objects miles away.

It seems to me that it should be affirmable to deign apparatus by means of which ship could reflect or project a divergent beam of these rays in any desired direction, which rays, if coming across a metallic object, such as another steamer or ship, would be reflected back to a receiver screened from the local transmitter on the sending ship and thereby, immediately reveal the presence and intention of the other ship in fog o inscrutable weather.
Marconi successfully demonstrated radio communication between continents. However, it seems that he was unsuccessful in gaining support for his other ideas involving very short waves such as troposphere scatter. He also mentioned that radio waves could be...If you wish to get a full essay, order it on our website: Ordercustompaper.com
