The experiment was performed in two forms of speech degradation: filtering and noise-masking with two different test methods: word recognition and rating of speech understanding. Methods: There were tercet tests of intelligibility in this experiment: filtered connected discourse, noise-masked connected discourse, and filtered monosyllabic words.
